Answer
I am running to apply my professional skills to give back to Wake County. My skills in innovation and data-driven management can help improve how County services mesh with each other, finding efficiencies to enhance the benefits from our annual budget of $2.28 billion, while making sure our most vulnerable residents are protected. My expertise in human-centered technology will help me guide an AI policy for the County to minimize AI’s risks to residents, while supporting upskilling to avoid potential job loss due to the rise of AI.
Answer
I am a pragmatist, not an ideologue. My values include taking care of the vulnerable (never harm the poor to benefit the rich), using resources wisely, and preserving our quality of life as stewards for later generations. A scientific attitude will drive my decisions: understand County services as a system, not in silos; obtain evidence (data and qualitative insights) to conduct deep analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and evaluate prospective solutions to improve our services and how they mesh.
