Filing Day
December 2025
Officially declaring your candidacy requires a trip to the Board of Elections in Raleigh, along with LOTS of paperwork. It wasn't all boring though. We had a fantastic group of supporters and friends who showed up to help celebrate the big moment with Team Mona, and to enjoy lunch together afterwards. (Oh and Mona showed up to help a few candidates for other offices celebrate their own filings, too!)
Fundraising
aka "Meet and Greets"
Running for office requires fundraising, which means candidates attend a lot of social gatherings and events even before they've officially filed for office. It's been amazing to see so many friends and community leaders step up and host events for Mona. Team Mona's early game outraised the other candidates, and that was certainly a phenomenal way to jumpstart this campaign.
